Our mission
Why we started
Project PULSE started with a simple, uncomfortable question. If someone collapsed in front of us right now, would we actually know what to do?
For most people the honest answer is "not really," and that is not a personal failing. It is a gap in the community. CPR is not hard to learn, but it is easy to never get around to. AEDs are more common than they used to be, but few people could tell you where the closest one is.
We are a group of students in Frisco, Texas trying to close that gap in one place, with real people, one training session and one AED at a time. We would rather do a few things well and be honest about the rest than promise the world.
How we work
We focus on the few skills a bystander actually uses in the first minutes: spotting a cardiac arrest, calling for help, doing chest compressions, and using an AED.
Awareness that stops at a poster does not save anyone. We connect people to real training and help make sure AEDs are easy to find and ready to use.
Students run this, but it is built for the whole community: families, school staff, and local organizations working on the same problem.
We work with certified instructors and medical professionals, and we are careful not to overstate what a student group can promise.
What we are, and are not
Project PULSE works on awareness and on helping people get to training. We are not a certifying body, a medical provider, or an emergency service. Qualified instructors and partner organizations handle the actual certification. Our job is to make training easier to reach, to raise awareness, and to help close gaps in AED access.
In a cardiac emergency, call 911 right away.
That includes you. Train with us, volunteer, or bring Project PULSE to your school or workplace.
